Country club living at Saint Ives
Few people in John’s Creek enjoy the privately-owned gated community lifestyle they can find at the Saint Ives Country Club. Established in 1989, the Saint Ives Country Club has provided an extravagant work-live-play lifestyle to families in the neighborhood for over 30 years. While nearly 2,000 residents live in the community, the club has twice as many members who come from all over the metroplex to enjoy its championship golf course and top-tier recreational offerings. “It’s just beautiful with waterfalls and a flagstone patio that overlooks the driving range,” Compass Realtor and six-year resident Deniece Toth says. “It’s the best decision we’ve made in terms of our family.”
Golfing along the Chattahoochee River
The crown jewel of the country club is the 18-hole golf course, which was designed by world-renowned architect Tom Fazio in 1988. Stretching over 7,000 yards, this state-of-the-art golf course has Bermuda greens, sand traps and small lakes connected by a creek. The gorgeous views are its defining feature, with the first tee having the second-highest vantage point in North Fulton County. “It starts high up on top of the hill and kind of meanders down to where there’s a few holes right next to the Chattahoochee River,” says James, Toth’s husband and business partner. “All golfers of all skill sets would find this golf course very beautiful and very challenging.” The club also maintains four pickleball courts and has a tennis league that regularly plays on six clay courts and 10 hard courts. The member pool features amenities such as a splash park with a water slide, a basketball half-court and a children’s playground.
Special events in the Saint Ives Clubhouse
When members aren’t playing on the golf course, they can usually be found at the 45,000-square-foot clubhouse, which is regularly used for afternoon tea and special occasions. From holidays and weddings to birthdays and baby showers, Saint Ives’ catering and event team works with members to help plan every detail of their celebrations. Youth tennis and swim and dive leagues host social events and club tournaments every summer, while pro members have the tennis invitational to look forward to in the fall.
The Ascot Room and The Turnberry Grille
There are two main dining options on the property. The Turnberry Grille is a casual hotspot that serves fresh burgers and sandwiches on its outdoor patio. The Ascot Room is a fine dining establishment that offers chicken scallopini, rack of lamb and filet mignon. It also has a member bar that pours premium spirits and fine wines. Both menus are managed by the country club’s executive chef Jorge Cotto, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu of Atlanta who’s been cooking for over 10 years.
European-style houses well over $1 million
Very few homes in the community are below $1 million in value. The handful of traditional houses that cost between $900,000 and $950,000 are 4,000 square feet and have half-acre lots. European-style homes in the $1-2 million range have riverfront access and additional amenities such as wine cellars and in-ground pools. Stucco houses that range between $2-3 million have five-to-seven bedrooms with 9,000-11,000 square feet of space.
60 golf karts for club transportation
Members can rent one of 60 golf carts to navigate the property, while pedestrian pathways make the community relatively walkable. Toth says residents venture out of the neighborhood so little that most families only need one car for grocery shopping. “We’ll take the golf cart to play golf or go up to the club to have dinner,” she says. “You don’t leave the neighborhood some weeks until Friday.”
A-rated education options
The country club is conveniently located next to some of the top schools in Fulton County. Wilson Creek Elementary is directly north and was rated amongst the top 10 elementary schools in the county with an A grade on Niche. Autrey Mill Middle is 5 miles east and also earned an A on Niche. Johns Creek High School has a 97% graduation rate and an A-plus rating.
Environmental factors
The CAP Index crime score is 2 out of 10, which is lower than the national average of 4. While flooding can occur along the Chattahoochee River, most of the neighborhood is insulated due to the high elevation. The club is in an ember zone due to the heavy woods.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data.
