An established luxury neighborhood in Jonesboro
Ridgepoint is not your typical golf course community. Its 18-hole layout, while impressive, is not the defining feature of this sought-after southwest Jonesboro destination. Instead, the neighborhood stands out for a diverse collection of high-value homes, including some of the most expensive in northeast Arkansas. Homes are spread out on oversized lots and offer a variety of architectural styles. “It’s one of the more established luxury neighborhoods in Jonesboro,” says Trenton Hoggard, a Realtor and team leader with the Northeast Arkansas Realty Group. “If you’re looking for high-end, custom-built homes where you have a community identity centered around the country club lifestyle, Ridgepoint is one of your only options, and it’s a good option. People love it here, and the community continues to attract buyers.”

Housing is highlighted by sprawling estates that offer anywhere from 5,000 to more than 20,000 square feet of interior space. Even the smallest homes offer more than 3,000 square feet. Several homes feature luxury amenities such as pools. Most homes are at least two stories, and many incorporate brick and stone construction. Architectural influences include Tudor, neoclassical, French Colonial, Cape Cod, Spanish Mediterranean and modern. Prices of homes on lots smaller than a half-acre range anywhere from $450,000 to about $900,000. Homes on larger lots typically range from $1 million-plus to almost $3 million. To put the housing in proper perspective, the average value of a home is more than $800,000. That’s four times the cost of the average Jonesboro home. HOA fees are $163 a month.

RidgePointe Country Club offers more than golf
The RidgePointe Country Club course is impeccably maintained, which allows it to hold events such as the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, an annual tournament hosted by nearby Arkansas State University. It also hosts high school tournaments. In addition to the course, which stretches for more than 6,500 yards among mature trees and water hazards, residents have access to additional resort-style amenities. “It’s not just for people who golf,” Hoggard says. “They have different levels of membership, and there are plenty of people who live here that don’t golf. But they take advantage of the pool, the pickleball courts and the restaurants. That attracts a little more activity to the clubhouse and keeps things moving and shaking. It’s a vibrant community.” Alternative recreation is available just outside the community at Disc Side of Heaven. The 18-hole, pro-level layout is a well-known destination for disc golfers and hosts regular events such as the Jonesboro Open. Craighead Forest Park, the largest in Jonesboro, is less than an 8-mile drive from the neighborhood. Comprising almost 700 acres, the park is anchored by a lake that attracts anglers, boaters and watercraft enthusiasts. Athletic amenities include ballfields, basketball courts and playgrounds.

Valley View School District is one of the state's best
Students attend the Valley View School District, rated B-plus by Niche. “This tends to be one of the hot spots when people are shopping for a home in the Valley View School District, which is one of the top districts in the state,” Hoggard says. All four of the district’s schools are located on a single campus about 6 miles from the community. Valley View Elementary School is the highest rated of the four, earning an A. Valley View Intermediate School (Grades 3 through 6) and Valley View Junior High School (Grades 7 through 9) score an A-minus. At Valley View High, a B-rated school, rising seniors can apply for admittance to Arkansas Governor’s School. High-performing students spend four weeks on a residential college campus during the prestigious summer program.
Valley View High School is home to around 630 students.
Valley View Intermediate School is a highly rated public school for grades 3 through 6.

Lebowski's microbrewery will be an anchor of a nearby mixed-use development
The country club offers a pair of dining options: The Pointe and Ridge Bar & Grill. The former serves upscale dishes in an intimate setting, while the latter offers comfort food favorites in a more relaxed atmosphere. “This area is one of the preferred places to live in Jonesboro, but there has not been a lot of development,” Hoggard says. That is about to change. Lebowski’s, a microbrewery and restaurant, will be one of the anchors for the Southern Hills mixed-used development on Southwest Drive, the main thoroughfare in the Valley View area. Owners of the movie-themed establishment have targeted early November for its grand opening. As for existing infrastructure, the Walmart Supercenter at Ridgepark Center shopping mall is about 4 miles away. Not far from there is the Interstate 555 corridor, which features eateries such as Lost Pizza Co. and A1 Sushi & Hibachi. The downtown Jonesboro shopping and dining district is less than 8 miles away. “At worst, you’re 15 minutes from the center of the city,” Hoggard says. Omar’s Uptown is a high-end steakhouse that is a featured downtown dining destination. Downtown is the center of city entertainment and the site of several popular events, including BBQ Fest, Fall Fest, Arts & Eat Fest and the annual Christmas parade.
Ridgepoint is located about 10 minutes from shopping and dining areas.
