Quiet suburb appeals to first-time buyers and young parents
Meadowbrook Heights is a suburban neighborhood in north Kansas City that appeals to families and first-time home buyers. Located 15 miles downtown, Meadowbrook Heights provides a welcome retreat far enough away from the city bustle but close enough to enjoy cosmopolitan amenities when the mood strikes. Many people come to this neighborhood for its excellent public schools, especially the coveted Staley High School.
“You’re getting a K.C. address and a really attractive school district,” Jaylenn Wong says. Wong is a Realtor with Platinum Realty who’s been selling homes in the area for four years.
As a cozy Northland community, Meadowbrook Heights is close to shopping and dining.
There are a bit older homes in the Meadowbrook Heights neighborhood built in the 60s & 70s.

Newer and older homes mix well
Although Meadowbrook Heights has some newer homes, many are at least 40 years old.
“This neighborhood appeals to younger first-time buyers who can find a home for between $250,000 and $300,000,” Wong says.
Home styles include split-levels, ranch-style, traditional and modern takes on Tudor architecture. Home prices range from $175,000 for an older 3-bedroom ranch-style to $400,000 for a traditional 2-story home with four bedrooms built in the 2020s. Interested buyers must act swiftly, as homes in this neighborhood sell more than twice as fast as the national average.
