A redeveloping pocket of Kansas City's Historic Northeast
Paseo West gets its name from The Paseo, the longest and oldest boulevard in Kansas City. Nearby major highways and a prime Historic Northeast location near downtown have made Paseo West appealing to long-time locals, investors and business owners. "It's emerging, it's up and coming," says Steven Jennings, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty who was born and raised in Kansas City. "It's a slow movement, but there's definitely a movement to bringing companies and houses into that neighborhood." Programs from local organizations like Paseo Gateway and the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Center for Neighborhoods are pouring investment into bringing new businesses to the area.
The 18th & Vine District is full of color and activities just minutes from Paseo West.

Prime location near downtown K.C.
Interstates 29, 70 and 670 all run next to Paseo West. The neighborhood's proximity to these interstates, downtown, and the nightlife of the Power and Light District has helped bring more investor interest to the area. "It's emerging because of the centralized location to the highways, but it's still a very niche area," Jennings says. The Paseo runs along the neighborhood's east side and has Ride KC bus stops. More bus stops are in the commercial district along Eighth, Ninth and 10th streets. Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center on Euclid Avenue and the Children's Mercy Hospital campus on Gillham Road are within 2 miles of the community, and Kansas City International Airport is 20 miles away on the city's north side.
