Kansas City suburb with housing options for different lifestyles
Sherrydale is a Northland Kansas City neighborhood that has welcomed exciting lifestyle options beyond the typical suburb. Once the location of Metro North Mall, today Sherrydale is home to Metro North Crossing, a 106-acre mixed-use area with luxury apartments above retail spaces. Anyone can dine at the new local and chain restaurants or take a swing at the driving range. The neighborhood still offers a variety of home styles, including townhouses and single-family homes, all located in the coveted North Kansas City School District. "It's really an up-and-coming area for commercial and residential development," says Brock Niemuth, a Realtor with the Eric Craig Team of Keller Williams Kansas City North.
Townhomes have been on the rise in Sherrydale, some so symmetrical it is almost scary.

Big box stores and local coffee shops
Sherrydale has a mix of familiar chain stores and loved local businesses. Big retail stores, including Target, Kohl's and Macy's, are close by. Renegade Coffee mixes things up with unique espresso drinks like the Wild Boar — a mocha cold brew with blood orange cold foam. Groups like to hang out on the patio in the evenings with a mocktail. "We have lots of non-coffee drinks that people can order drink until late," says Joseph Esry, Renegade Coffee owner. At Metro North Crossing, Third Street Social offers hearty entrees like fried chicken and an extensive wine list. More restaurants will soon be added there.
Oak Park High School serves Sherrydale students.
North Kansas City students prepare for college
Four highly-rated schools are close by. Kindergarteners and first graders can start at Gashland Elementary before moving to Clardy Elementary for grades two through five. Gashland earns an A-minus from Niche, while Clardy earns a B-plus. As they progress, students can attend Antioch Middle and Oak Park High, both of which earn a B-plus. Each North Kansas City high school allows students to embark on College and Career Pathways, including health, business, technology and design, or human services.
