Windstone Colony has easy access to nearby cities
In a sprawling suburban landscape between Houston and Katy, Windstone Colony is one of many neighborhoods conveniently surrounded by major roads that get commuters to the nearby cities. “There are great transportation arteries,” says Realtor of 13 years Kim Rensimer, with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty. “It’s tucked between a lot of subdivisions that run the gamut from master-planned communities to little sub-pocket neighborhoods. It’s definitely suburbia.” The neighborhood, which has a centrally located pool, is also near highly rated schools.

Windstone Colony’s 21st-century brick homes
Bungalows and new traditional-style red brick homes in Windstone Colony are set close together on lots of up to a third of an acre. Neat rows of trees shade the front yards of these early 2000s residences, most of which are on neighborhood streets that end in cul-de-sacs. Prices here range from $235,000 to $349,000, considerably less than in some nearby communities like Cypress Creek Lakes, where prices can exceed $1 million. “People are going outside of Houston,” says area resident Gabriel Suarez, a Realtor with eXp Realty. "While they are getting homes that aren’t brand new, you can get something under $300,000 and get a good piece of land. There’s just not any land left inside of Houston,” According to flood risk models, streets throughout the neighborhood can be prone to flooding.

GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
