Orebank's combination of comfort and convenience
The suburban neighborhood of Orebank sits east of Kingsport, just outside the city boundaries. The feeling of distance from the city draws many residents to the area. Despite its peaceful character, the area is conveniently located along Stone Drive, with nearby shopping and dining areas. “It feels suburban, but you’re five minutes from Target and a mile from the grocery store,” says Mary Glenn Lively, a Realtor with Southern Dwellings who has lived in Kingsport for nearly 20 years. “But you can’t feel you’re that close.”
Bungalows and cottages, with some scattered manufactured homes
Orebank Road rolls along the Appalachian foothills of Northeast Tennessee. Streets often branch off toward the ridge at the neighborhood’s south. Homes are closely packed and have small yards, sometimes with chain-link fences around the property. Bungalows and one-story cottages make up many of the area’s single-family homes and can sell from the mid-$100,000s to upper $200,000s. Manufactured homes often go between $80,000 and the high $100,000s. Homes along the top of the ridge tend to be well-maintained ranch-style properties and rarely go on the market.
