The 3,750-acre park includes a mountain lake, wildlife exhibits and hiking trails, while the planetarium offers shows focusing on the night sky and constellations. “You can go on a boat tour on the lake, and the rangers will tell you about the animals that pop up throughout the park,” says Dianne Corey, a Realtor with Keller Williams Kingsport. Meanwhile, the Kingsport Aquatic Center is 3 miles from the neighborhood, with indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides and a lazy river.

Education at Sullivan County Schools
Students in Sullivan Gardens can attend Sullivan Gardens Elementary, located within the community, before moving on to Sullivan Heights Middle and West Ridge High. All three schools receive a C-plus grade from Niche. West Ridge High offers dual-enrollment programs in conjunction with East Tennessee State University and Northeast State Community College.

While the community is almost exclusively residential, shopping and dining are directly across Interstate 26. For groceries, a Price Less IGA is roughly 3 miles down Sullivan Gardens Parkway, not far from various fast-food restaurants. More shopping options are available in Kingsport or further south in Johnson City. “There aren’t a ton of restaurants or nightlife options to choose from in Kingsport,” Corey says, “but people don’t mind driving the 25 minutes to Johnson City, where there might be a bit more going on.”

Downtown Kingsport, a quick drive from Sullivan Gardens, offers many shopping options, such as Cornucopia, a fun popcorn store on Broad Street.

Events at the Sullivan County Public Library
The Sullivan County Public Library has a branch in Sullivan Gardens, where locals can attend events like storytime and game nights. The Sullivan Gardens Hiking Club is also run through the library. Otherwise, residents can head to Bays Mountain Park for events and holiday celebrations. Access to Kingsport via Sullivan Gardens Parkway
