Founded in the 1700s, Kingsville retains historic accents and popular sites

Kingsville is a rural Maryland suburb in Baltimore County located about 25 miles northeast of Baltimore. Its rich history goes back 350 years to the founding of the county, when land grants by the English Crown were made to colonial settlers along the Chesapeake Bay and Gunpowder River. Established in the early 1800s as a farming community, agriculture thrived on the area’s access to the river and surrounding creeks. Historic sites include St. John’s Episcopal Church, which dates to 1680, and the Jerusalem Mill, built in 1772. About 4,700 residents call Kingsville home and enjoy acres of farmland, woodlands, bucolic views and handsome housing options. Realtor Lee Tessier of the Lee Tessier Team of EXP Realty explains the appeal of Kingsville, “Kingsville is much more rural than the surrounding areas,” explains. And because of this, “It’s primarily comprised of single-family homes, some mid-size, some quite large. You’ve got bigger lots, over an acre, and you’re on well and septic.”
