The award-winning Lake Washington School District serves Totem Lake. Both Alexander Graham Bell Elementary and Kirkland Middle School have A scores from Niche. Juanita High School boasts nearly 30 student clubs, such as Literary Magazine, Gardening Club and Dungeons & Dragons Club, and it has an A-minus from Niche.I-405 runs straight through town

Local favorite Salt & Straw serves frozen treats in unique flavors like strawberry balsamic. There are more amenities outside of The Village at Totem Lake. Fred Meyer is a 2-mile drive on local streets. There are also lots of dining options. Spicy Talk Bistro is a casual Chinese restaurant serving classic Chinese American favorites alongside authentic Sichuan dishes like sizzling beef and mapo tofu. The pet-friendly Maelstrom Brewing Company allows patrons to bring in outside food.
