Blanco River District is entirely residential, with about 90% single-family homes and 10% apartments. Blanco River District is located a mile west of I-35, 4 miles south of Kyle, 7 miles north of San Marcos, 25 miles south of Austin and 56 miles northeast of San Antonio. “It’s conveniently located,” Carter says. “It’s really easily accessible to commute either north or south.” The closest medical center to the neighborhood is Kyle ER & Hospital, 6 miles north. When traveling out of town, residents can fly out of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, 28 miles northeast, or San Antonio International Airport, 50 miles southwest.
