Ranch-style homes on sprawling lots
Homes dot the forested hills, clustered along U.S. 27 or in communities along side streets between more-open spaces. "You'll find beautiful terrain and get a nice bit of land for a reasonable price,'' says Christopher Owens, a Realtor with eXp Realty, adding lots from a half-acre to 3 acres is common. "It's not far from downtown LaFayette, which is a real gem for Northwest Georgia.'' The home styles in Noble are familiar in the hills and mountains of Georgia and Tennessee -- such as ranch styles, split levels and cottages. Colonial Revivals also are represented, though not as often. Two-bedroom homes sell for $50,000 to $130,000, while houses with three or more tend to sell for $200,000 to $380,000. The price difference isn’t just due to size (the smaller homes range from 1,000 to 1,600 square feet)—the two-bedroom homes are often older cottages built in the 1940s, with some in need of some repair.A hike at Cloudland Canyon State Park or a dip in Queen City Lake
Despite green space in all directions, Noble doesn't have maintained parks. However, there are rich outdoor opportunities nearby. About 19 miles west, Cloudland Canyon State Park is known for its deep gorge. Spanning 5 square miles, this park's trails carve through dense woodlands to waterfalls, caves and cliff outlooks. Five Points Recreation Area has an array of options for adventure — mountain biking trails, fishing ponds, a disc golf course, horseback riding and more. Off Lakeview Drive in LaFayette is Queen City Lake. "There's also so much to do at Queen's Lake. It's perfect for fishing and swimming or if you just want to play in the sand," says Owens. Locals can also catch a show at Back Alley Productions at the Mars Theatre, a local community theater.Walker County Schools
Walker County Schools serves the residents of Noble. Students can begin their education at North LaFayette Elementary School, which received a B-minus grade from Niche. The school has an outdoor classroom, where students can learn while getting some fresh air. After elementary, they'll move on to LaFayette Middle School and finish at LaFayette High School, which scored a B-minus and a B, respectively. LaFayette High has a program called LAUNCH in partnership with Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Students who participate can complete high school and college courses simultaneously, allowing them to graduate with their high school diploma and a vocational certificate. Popular programs include medical assisting, early childhood education, cosmetology, computer networking, criminal justice, HVAC, welding and logistics.A night out in La Fayette
Rock Spring and LaFayette border Noble to the north and south, providing commercial areas just a few miles away. LaFayette, in particular, has several big-name stops, such as Food City and Walmart, right off U.S. 27. Fast food spots and restaurants line the highway. Los Guerreros offers casual Mexican dining with classic dishes such as chimichangas, enchiladas and fajitas from a no-frills building with a pueblo-style interior. Within LaFayette’s historic Westside, Station House of LaFayette serves New American food in a quaint building with a warm and rustic ambiance. The owner and executive chef of Station House, Chailada Hanchanlash, describes the restaurant’s unique fine dining fusion, which combines influences from Italian, French, Asian and Latin American cuisine. “You don’t have to drive to Chattanooga to get that experience.” Though Station House is a bit more upscale, it still maintains a warm and comfortable feel. “We’ve got that Southern hospitality,” says Hanchanlash. “It's relaxed and cozy— like coming to eat at a friend's house.” Exposed red brick covers one wall, while across the dining room, the adjacent wall is covered in local artist’s work for sale. Stain-glass windows, warm cherry wood accents, a roaring fireplace and a string-lit patio complete the picture.Scenic drives on U.S. Route 27
