PGA West is a master-planned golf community surrounded by the Santa Rosa Mountains in La Quinta. “Everyone is here to just enjoy the weather, and it’s a very active area,” says Becky King, Realtor for Compass. “It’s gorgeous. The weather is incredible from October to May, and there are beautiful mountain views.” The weather, recreation and central location of PGA West make it a popular spot for vacation homes, but some residents live in the neighborhood full time: “I live here, I work here, I play here. I’ve been at PGA West since 2008, and I love it,” King says,
Spanish style homes with luxury amenities
Homes in PGA West are a collection of luxury homes and condos, with options for residences on and off the fairways. “We have condos starting at $500,000 up to $5 million homes, so there’s something for everyone,” King says. Stucco walls and clay tile roofs inspired by Spanish and Mediterranean architecture adorn the exteriors. Spacious contemporary interiors blend seamlessly with ornate courtyards to balance indoor and outdoor space, and landscaped backyards and private pools are standard household amenities. “HOA takes care of landscaping, so everything is aesthetically pleasing,” King says.

World-class events like Coachella and PGA Golf Tour
In addition to seemingly limitless recreation opportunities in PGA West, residents are also at the center of high-profile events. “Coachella is held just a mile away each April, and every January, we have the American Express PGA Golf Tour come through here,” King says. Just outside of PGA West, Acrisure Arena opened in 2022 and holds over 11,000 people. “They’ve had a ton of good concerts there: The Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Stevie Nicks, Shania Twain, you name it. We also have a junior Hockey Team called the Firebirds,” King says.
Members have access to private golf courses, wellness facilities and more
“If you’re active, it’s the greatest place to live,” King says. “We have hiking trails, golf, pickle ball, bocce ball and polo tennis. There are three private clubhouses, a clubhouse and a restaurant.” Residents must be PGA West members to use the private facilities, including the six state-of-the-art private golf courses. There are also three public golf courses. PGA Residents also have access to the popular hiking trails and parks in La Quinta. The moderately challenging La Quinta Cover to Lake Cahuilla hike goes through PGA West Golf Course and finishes at Lake Cahuilla. Like other trails in the area, it is surrounded by the Santa Rosa Mountains.
