A scenic neighborhood in a convenient location
Meridian Campus is a modern, suburban community in northeast Lacey that attracts residents looking for a balance of convenience and outdoor amenities. Located between Hawks Prairie and the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, Meridian Campus offers a range of contemporary single-family homes within easy driving distance of Interstate 5 and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, the largest employer in the area. “The neighborhood has a little more yard space and a little more greenery than Hawks Prairie,” says Realtor Matt Murray of Van Dorm Realty, who has lived in the area for over 25 years. “And you still get well-maintained modern homes with access to shopping and JBLM.”
Meridian Campus is located in a beautiful and quiet area of Lacey.

Modern Craftsman homes
The Meridian Campus neighborhood is made up of single-family homes built over the past two decades. Homes generally have contemporary designs with Craftsman elements. Two-story homes are the norm, mostly ranging in size from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet. Like other neighborhoods in northeast Lacey, Meridian Campus is made up of master planned developments, so there’s not a whole lot of variety as far as layouts and design go. However, lot sizes in the neighborhood tend to be a bit larger than those in nearby communities like Hawks Prairie and Edgewater. Most properties go for between $450,000 and $700,000. Homes on the northern end of the neighborhood might back up to the fairways and greens of The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie. These homes tend to be on the higher end of the price range, and a rare few have sold for around $1 million. The neighborhood has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2 out of 10, below the national average of 4 out of 10.

Next door to the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
A significant part of Merdian Campus’s appeal is its proximity to a variety of outdoor spaces, from large nature preserves to scenic golf courses. Immediately east of the neighborhood, the 4,500-acre Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge features miles of trails, including the 4-mile Nisqually Estuary Boardwalk Trail, which has some of the best birdwatching in the south Puget Sound area. On the north side of the neighborhood, The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie offers two pine-lined golf courses, one of which winds through the streets and trails of north Meridian Campus. There are also multiple smaller outdoor areas in the neighborhood, most notably the Meridian Neighborhood Park, which has a playground and plenty of outdoor space. The park also connects to the William Ives Nature Trail, a 1.5-mile walking path that passes through local woods and around a small lake in the neighborhood.

Hawks Prairie shops and restaurants
While Meridian Campus is almost entirely residential, the neighborhood is just down the road from Hawks Prairie, which features a bevy of shopping and dining options. “You kind of get the best of both worlds over there,” says real estate agent and longtime Lacey resident Laura Lundin of Abbey Realty. “You’re surrounded by nature, but it’s also really easy to get to the shopping in Hawks Prairie.” It’s a 2-mile drive to Hawks Prairie Village Mall, which is home to the nearest supermarket, along with a Walmart and a selection of smaller shops and restaurants. Additional shopping options in the area include Costco, Home Depot and WinCo Foods. Hawks Prairie has both chain restaurants and locally owned eateries like Cube Ramen and Asian Cuisine. Meridian Campus is also less than 9 miles from downtown Olympia, which serves as the heart of the local arts, entertainment and dining scenes.

Lacey's Fireworks Spectacular
While Meridian Campus itself doesn’t have much in the way of events, the city of Lacey hosts several community-focused celebrations and festivals throughout the year, including the Lacey Fireworks Spectacular in July, and the popular New Year's Day Polar Bear Plunge at Long Lake. The neighboring city of Olympia hosts larger events throughout the year, like Olympia Harbor Days, which draw thousands of visitors from all over the Pacific Northwest.
Close to Joint Base Lewis-McChord
Most Meridian Campus residents rely on cars to get around. While the neighborhood sits just north of Interstate 5, it’s over 2 miles to the nearest on-ramp, on Marvin Road. Joint Base Lewis-McChord is just an 8-mile drive from the neighborhood, one of the shortest drives of any neighborhood in Lacey, making Meridian Campus a popular choice among military families. The Washington State Capitol Campus, another major local employer, is 9 miles away via Interstate 5. Public transportation is available in the form of Intercity Transit buses. The Hawks Prairie route runs through the area and connects to the Lacey Transit Center.
