Centrally located Lacey neighborhood
Tanglewilde is a residential neighborhood located in the heart of Lacey, close to the shopping centers that line Marvin Road and Marvin Way. First developed in the '40s and '50s, it typically appeals to homebuyers looking for suburban living within easy reach of nearby urban amenities. Its location along Interstate 5 also makes it easy to commute to Olympia and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. “You could make the argument that it’s the most conveniently located neighborhood in town,” says Realtor and lifelong Olympia resident Justin Clement of Better Homes and Gardens. “Especially if someone in the family is working on base.”

Midcentury ranches and split-levels
Although it’s located near the center of Lacey’s sizable commercial center, Tanglewilde is predominantly residential. The neighborhood’s housing market is mostly made up of single-family homes built in the mid-to-late 20th century. Ranch-style homes and split-levels are common, as are contemporary 2-story Craftsman builds. Houses here are relatively budget-friendly for the region, which has made the area appealing to a range of buyers, including first-time homeowners. Most properties in the neighborhood sell for between $400,000 and $550,000 and generally offer layouts between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet. Lots are moderately sized, with room for a backyard garden or other landscaping. Evergreens grow liberally throughout the neighborhood, especially in the section south of Martin Way, and create a sense of seclusion and privacy for homeowners.
