Midcentury ranches and split-levels
Although it’s located near the center of Lacey’s sizable commercial center, Tanglewilde is predominantly residential. The neighborhood’s housing market is mostly made up of single-family homes built in the mid-to-late 20th century. Ranch-style homes and split-levels are common, as are contemporary 2-story Craftsman builds. Houses here are relatively budget-friendly for the region, which has made the area appealing to a range of buyers, including first-time homeowners. Most properties in the neighborhood sell for between $400,000 and $550,000 and generally offer layouts between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet. Lots are moderately sized, with room for a backyard garden or other landscaping. Evergreens grow liberally throughout the neighborhood, especially in the section south of Martin Way, and create a sense of seclusion and privacy for homeowners.Tanglewilde Park and Pool
Tanglewilde Park in the heart of the neighborhood is only open to Tanglewilde residents and guests, and features a playground, picnic tables and the local swimming pool, all of which are shaded by towering old-growth pines. Just south of Tanglewilde, the 72-acre Woodland Creek Community Park has about a mile of walking trails, a disc golf course and a fishing pond, along with athletic fields and basketball courts. And even though the neighborhood is in the center of Lacey, it’s still less than 4 miles from Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, which has over 5 miles of nature trails and boardwalks, not to mention some of the best views and birdwatching in the greater Olympia area.Highly rated North Thurston School District
