Walkability is limited for long distances
While getting around within subdivisions and small neighborhoods can be easily done with sidewalks, it’s not easy if you want to travel a long way and don’t have a car. A few bus stops that venture north to the Stirling Lafayette Shopping Center are found along Louisiana Avenue, and a bus stop on Willow Street is west of the intersection with Louisiana Avenue. Interstate 10 is to the north, where traveling eastbound for about an hour will get you to Baton Rouge. The nearest medical facility is 6 miles away at Ochsner University Hospital.
