The local public schools are overseen by the Capistrano Unified School District, which has a rare A-plus rating on Niche. Marian Bergeson Elementary, Aliso Viejo Middle School and Aliso Niguel High all serve the neighborhood and have A grades on the site. Rancho Niguel is mostly made up of enclosed, thoroughly residential communities, but the neighborhood is surrounded by shopping and dining opportunities. The small but bustling commercial district in the northeast corner of the neighborhood is home to Ralphs supermarket, the local Costco and a variety of restaurants including highly-rated spots like Rangeen Indi-Cali Kitchen and Slice of the Pie Pizza. Less than a mile down the road, The Shops at Mission Viejo is one of the largest malls in south Orange County.
