Lake Dalecarlia, or Lake Dale as it's known, is a community-oriented neighborhood with proximity to nearby lakes. Homebuyers will find the community is big on helping one another and being thoughtful. “For the 25 years that I’ve lived here, we have been there for each other and come together when we need each other. All the POA members are volunteers. We give our time because we appreciate our community,” says Lake Dale’s Property Owner’s Association member J.L. “When we get big rains, we fill sandbags and take them to elderly residents. It’s just what we do.”

Lake Dalecarlia homes are grand and upscale. These are all single-family homes with large private acre lots. It’s a rural area, so houses can be scattered unless they're within a subdivision. Subdivisions are enhanced with maintained lawns and luscious trees. It’s common for neighbors to take jogs along the sidewalks or walk the dog. Residents meet up with neighbors and enjoy several lake activities throughout the year. “We go out on our boats all the time. We go fishing, skiing and tubing in the summer,” says Lake Dalecarlia’s POA member. “Once a month, we take our pontoon boats out, bring some food and drinks and have a great time.” Lemon Lake County Park was the first park in Lake County, dedicated in 1972. Residents of all ages use the 402 acres to their full advantage, such as spending an afternoon competing with the family on the five disc golf courses. Other leisurely activities are the playground and walking trails, and pets enjoy the off-leash dog park. Fairways Golf Course is a local spot to get into a quick swing.

Students may attend schools in the Hanover Community School Corporation. Jane Bell Elementary teaches students from kindergarten through fourth grade. This school holds an A-minus from Niche and has before and after-school programs. Hanover Central Middle School also has an A-minus. Honor classes are offered to students with outstanding academic performance. Hanover Central High School has a B-plus. Dual-enrollment and AP courses are options for students, who may also participate in several clubs offered at the school.

Lake County Fairgrounds is nearby for events
Adventurous children may enjoy their summers at the YMCA’s Triangle Hills Camp and Retreat Center campground. They can spend the summer participating in obstacle-filled activities, including rope courses, wall climbing and slip and slide. Lake County Fairgrounds are located 4 miles north. This space holds events frequently, but the biggest draw is the Lake County Fair held in August. Take the family out for a day of rides, comforting sweets and snacks and livestock.
