Sunrise Creek
Handsome homes on large lots
Mature trees and broad sidewalks line both sides of Sunrise Creek’s residential roads on the neighborhood's western side. Stunning Craftsman-style homes with driveways and roomy garages are among the most popular home types. Most of these houses were built in the 1990s, range from 2,400 to 3,000 square feet and cost $650,000 to $745,000. Beautiful features of these properties include pointed roofs, stone accents and front porches. There are also contemporary ranch-style homes and townhouses in the area for $500,000 to $550,000. “People tend to like this neighborhood because it’s well-kept, and residents really take care of their homes,” says Tania Nelson, a broker associate with HomeSmart Realty Group who has over 10 years of experience. “Owners often settle in for many years — some families even stay for multiple generations.” All homeowners in the community belong to the Sunrise Creek Master Association, which provides amenities like trash collection and snow removal. On the neighborhood's eastern side, luxurious estates with modern farmhouse architecture dot the area. These properties have acres of land and can cost up to $1 million. Nelson continues, “You’re not going to find this kind of land in some of the newer communities.”Sunrise Creek’s parks and outdoor amenities
For a breath of fresh air, Sunrise Creek Park offers fantastic views of the mountains nearby and several grassy greenbelts to explore. Multiple trail connections to neighborhood sidewalks make the park easy to access. Patrons can walk the loop trails or use them to travel even further to Blue Heron Park, which opens up to the Beers Sisters Lake Reservoir. Fishing and wildlife watching are fun activities to do along the lake’s shoreline. Additionally, children adore the bright green and orange playground here, where those who are brave enough can scale the climbing wall. For adventurists wanting a little more action, Sunrise Creek is only 10 miles away from the Rocky Mountains in the west, where there are ample opportunities for hiking, biking, camping, horseback riding and more.Jeffco public schools with great programs
Sunrise Creek’s youngest residents can start their education at Westridge Elementary School, which maintains an A-minus grade on Niche and provides before and after-school care. From there, students can attend Summit Ridge Middle School with its B-plus Niche grade. Summit Ridge is a designated IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) World School. Dakota Ridge High School is a great place for students to round off their k-12 education. Ranked No. 9 in Best Public High Schools in Jefferson County by Niche, Dakota Ridge earns an A-minus grade and provides a Career Explore Program. Since Sunrise Creek is mostly residential, shopping and dining options are found at the edges of the neighborhood. At the intersection of Bellview Avenue and Kipling Parkway, Kipling Marketplace has numerous local restaurants and small businesses. Start the day at Ground Up Coffee Café, which has locally roasted coffee beans and pastries. Saucy’s Pizza has been serving savory slices and gluten-free garlic bread for over 20 years. Stocking up on groceries is easy at the Safeway, or people can head across the street to King Soopers. There are also a handful of wellness services in the area, like hair salons and massage places. When it comes to nighttime entertainment, The Lucky Mutt on the other side of the neighborhood is an American pub and bar with a cozy atmosphere and plenty of TVs.Traveling in and around Sunrise Creek
With the neighborhood’s wide sidewalks, multiple walking trails and greenbelts, it’s easy to navigate the area on foot or by bike. When it comes to traveling outside of Sunrise Creek, most people drive their own vehicles. Access to Colorado State Route 121 is 2 miles east and can take commuters the 8 miles straight into Lakewood. Those who rely on public transportation can find bus stops from the local transit services along South Simms Street and South Kipling Parkway.
