Walsingham Heights’ suburban streets are close to beaches and businesses

Located off Ulmerton Road on the southern edge of Largo, Walsingham Heights has standard suburban residential options within 4 miles of beaches on the Gulf Coast and even closer to major outdoor spaces like the Florida Botanical Gardens and Walsingham Park. “People are surprised by how close everything feels. No matter where you are in the city, you’re not more than 10 or 15 minutes away from the beaches. If I’m driving more than 15 minutes, I feel like I’m really going somewhere,” says Tristan Brockwell, Mortgages and Real Estate Analyst at the Brockwell Group in Largo. In addition to quick drives to Largo’s best amenities, neighborhood residents are less than a mile from dozens of shopping and dining options along Ulmerton Road.

Walsingham Park and the Florida Botanical Gardens also border Walsingham Heights. Walsingham Park spans over 350 acres, and visitors can hike on trails around Walsingham Reservoir or launch their non-motorized boats. The Florida Botanical Gardens, which are adjacent to Walsingham Park, have over a dozen gardens featuring herbs, native plants, tropical fruits and more. The facility also hosts its annual Holiday Lights In The Garden event, which lights up the grounds with over 1 million Christmas lights. Largo Central Park is also less than 3 miles north. “That’s where they have the bigger, more managed, beautiful playground for the kids. They do a train ride throughout Largo Central Park once a month, so that’s a big deal,” Barbara Brockwell says. Located several miles inland, Walsingham Heights is not in a flood zone. However, locals can drive to miles of shoreline along the Gulf of Mexico in about 10 minutes. Indian Rocks Beach is one of several beach communities nearby.
