Mason Hills
The luxury homes of Mason Hills
Mason Hills was established in 2014, and the sidewalks are tidy and newly paved. While it is has slowed in recent years, construction has been ongoing since the neighborhood’s establishment, and some of the homes were completed as recently as 2024. Flat streets with dipped curbs make it easier to use strollers and wheelchairs, and the busier intersections have crosswalks. The modern transitional homes are spacious, whether they have one or two stories. Many have up-to-date appliances and spacious backyard patios. Common architectural details include brick exteriors, arched entryways and gabled roofs. Prices range from about $320,000 to $950,000, depending on size. Monthly HOA fees vary by subdivision and cover common area maintenance costs. The overall CAP Index Crime Score is 5 out of 10, slightly higher than the national average of 4. However, the score for theft-related crimes here is higher than the national average.Esteemed public school pipeline within Leander ISD

In the middle of the neighborhood, Mason Hills Park has a basketball court, playground and parking lot. The park’s community pool features a large awning covering part of the kiddie pool. Nearby Robin Bledsoe Park offers more amenities, including an outdoor pool with a splash pad and a shaded picnic pavilion. A few miles southwest, Crystal Hills Golf Club is a public 18-hole course situated within the picturesque Hill Country. The club hosts tournaments for men, women and junior golfers. Indoor gyms in the area include Orangetheory Fitness and TrueCore Fitness.Commuting south down U.S. Route 183
U.S. Route 183 is close at hand, connecting commuters south to Cedar Park and Austin. Though most locals drive, the Capital Metro light rail to downtown Austin makes its final stop at Leander Station, about 4 miles away; the trip from Leander Station to Downtown takes just over an hour. Cedar Park Regional Emergency Center sits less than a mile from the neighborhood, and the larger Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is 6 miles away. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is about 34 miles southwest.Shopping and dining in Leander and Cedar Park
At the southern tip of the neighborhood, Randalls anchors a small commercial area with a veterinarian’s office and a Starbucks. Sky Asian Fusion serves a variety of lunch and dinner options in a sleek, contemporary atmosphere. Route 183 is lined with more retailers and restaurants, like Lowe’s Home Improvement, Chick-fil-A and Petco. “Cedar Park is where you’re going to go for a nice, sit-down dinner,” Sutherland says of the Austin suburb a few miles down 183. “It’s where you can drop the kids off for a dance class, and it has many other businesses, like banks.”Shows at the H-E-B Center and festivals in Leander
Locals can find fun things to do along 183 throughout the year. “Leander is still remote in terms of things to do, so most people’s first step would be Cedar Park; they have a complex that hosts sporting events, a semiprofessional basketball team and concerts,” Sutherland says, referring to The H-E-B Center, a venue that seats 8,000. A bit closer to the neighborhood, the Bluegrass & Folk Festival takes place at The Mason Homestead, a restored 1860s farmhouse now owned by the city of Leander. Farther up 183, the Old Town Christmas Festival attracts crowds with its holiday vendors, community parade and photos with Santa.
