Community perks and Hill Country views shape life in Travisso

The planned community of Travisso sits in west Leander, offering its residents picturesque views of the Texas Hill Country, upscale amenities and a social calendar full of events and activities for adults and kids. Buyers choose from homes by top builders, and families appreciate access to highly rated Leander ISD schools. Shopping, dining and downtown Austin are all easily accessible, thanks to the community's location near major highways. Regarding crime, Travisso scores 1 out of 10 on the CAP Index, several points lower than the national average.

Upscale amenities include pool, pickleball courts and fishing pond

The community's main amenity is the Palazzo Clubhouse, an indoor and outdoor recreational space that offers:

  • A fitness center and studio
  • A resort-style pool and splash pad
  • A playground
  • Tennis and pickleball courts
  • Walking trails
The Forum is a newer recreation center, which offers similar amenities, along with a yoga space, basketball courts and a pond where residents fish, kayak and paddleboard. The neighborhood also has two pocket park: Terra Verde and Monza. Both have kid-friendly amenities like climbing structures, jungle gyms, a trike racing track, picnic tables and open fields.

Community has regular events and activities

Travisso has fitness classes, kids’ camps, adult socials and seasonal events like Freedom Fest on the 4th of July, Diwali, Trunk or Treat on Halloween and Holiday in the Hill in December.

Kids can attend schools within Leander ISD

The highly rated Leander Independent School District serves the community and is a big draw for families, says Sabine McCalla, a real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway, who sells throughout the Greater Austin metro area. “It’s a popular school district. A lot of families move here for that.”

Leander ISD offers limited school choice through in-district and out-of-district transfer requests. Placement is dependent on campus capacity and district policy rather than guaranteed admission. Beginning in 2026–27, an open enrollment model will allow nonresident students to apply for seats at campuses with available space.

Students can attend CC Mason Elementary, Running Brushy Middle School and Cedar Park High School; all are located close to the neighborhood and bus transportation is available. A new elementary school is planned within Travisso with a projected Fall 2028 opening.

Multiple ways to get to downtown Austin during rush hour

Residents get around by car, as there is no public transportation in or near the neighborhood. Ranch to Market Road 1431 and Nameless Road are two major thoroughfares that run just outside of the community and lead to downtown Leander, about 10 miles away. The closest hospitals, St. David’s Health and Ascension Seton Cedar Park, are within 10 miles of the neighborhood.

Downtown Austin and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport are within 35 miles via several routes, including those that utilize the toll road, U.S. 183A. Traffic heading into the city depends on the time of day, McCalla says. “Rush hour, of course, is a little busy. But there are multiple ways to get to Austin, which helps—the toll road, and then there are some other roads where you don’t have to pay.”

Large homes by top builders like Toll Brothers and Taylor Morrison

Homes in Travisso typically have four or five bedrooms and span 2,000 square feet or more. They feature variations of New Traditional styles, some with Mediterranean elements and others with farmhouse vibes. Driveways and multi-car garages are standard. Front yards tend to be small, with manicured grass lawns and young trees. Backyards sometimes feature in-ground pools. Residential streets are quiet and wide, and many have sidewalks.

Multiple builders serve the community, including Taylor Morrison, Drees and Toll Brothers. The median price for homes is about $900,000, though it is possible to find smaller options for around $550,000. While there are several similar planned communities in Leander, Travisso stands out “for the views,” McCalla says. “What people really love are the views.”

Shopping and dining near U.S. 183 and in downtown Leander

Residents head east to run errands at Whole Foods, H-E-B, Target, Costco and other big box stores on or near U.S. 183. Popular chain restaurants are near these national retailers. For local options, the city’s historic district, Old Town Leander, features favorites like Casa Costa Bake Shop, a bakery that serves pastries and espresso drinks, and Bella Sera, a cozy Italian spot serving traditional dishes and a large variety of wines. Lakeline Mall in nearby Cedar Park, about 10 miles away, has retailers like HomeGoods and Best Buy and a movie theater. Downtown Austin has dozens more shopping, dining and entertainment options.
