Multi-generational home
Once a hub for the L & N Railroad, Lebanon Junction, Kentucky remains a multi-generational home for those who prefer a slower pace of life. Sarah Demott, who works for city hall and was “born and raised” in town, says, “It’s a small town between bigger cities.” Most amenities can be found in Elizabethtown and Shepherdsville, and residents choose Lebanon Junction because of family ties and the comfort of a country lifestyle.

Home inventory is low
The housing market in Lebanon Junction is a pain point for those wishing to relocate there. According to Demott, “The market is crazy. We need houses. We have old homes downtown selling for two times what they’re worth.” Current listings are scarce, and they span a wide price range. Median prices are in the upper $100 thousand range, but some residences list for as low as $60 thousand and as high as $500 thousand. Along Main Street, one-to-two-story farmhouse-styles with wide front porches face the sidewalk. Further from the train tracks, the sidewalks end, and styles range from pre-built modular houses to two-story brick, Colonial-inspired ones.
