“The greatest thing since bubblegum”
The Village of Saint Charles is a central subdivision in The Villages, the country’s largest 55-plus community. The neighborhood was developed between 2008 and 2010, less than a mile from two recreation centers and a golf course. This immediate access to activity is typical in The Villages, where the main mode of travel is by golf cart. “Every day I walk out of my front door, and there are thousands of things to do,” says resident Pat Serafino, a Realtor with Realty Executives who has 45 years of experience selling homes. “My wife and I, we’re retired — everyone’s retired — and we’re in our last chapter, enjoying life to the utmost. People are very friendly here. We all take care of each other.” The Villages are known as a place where active and social lifestyles thrive, and the Village of Saint Charles is no exception. It’s central to two town squares, which are The Villages’ downtown areas, featuring restaurants and boutiques. “The Villages are really like a little city,” Serafino says. “They’re the greatest thing since bubblegum.”
