Jimtown offers country living near Paris and Lexington
Jimtown is a small, rural community in Kentucky’s horse country, featuring open space and scenic farmland. Most of the area is used for horse and cattle farms, but you can also find a few smaller properties that offer the quiet country lifestyle without that level of maintenance and expense. The community sits just outside of Paris, where you’ll find shopping, dining and recreation. Lexington and Georgetown are within 30 minutes of Jimtown, providing access to jobs and city amenities.
Limited inventory and expansive land shape home values
Jimtown offers a mix of horse farms and small sections where bungalows and ranch-style houses sit on less than an acre. “It’s predominantly land, which is hard to come by in Lexington. There are a few huge farms on Ferguson Road,” says Lana Stephens, a Realtor with The Jury Group Realtors and CEO of beHOME, a division of Bluegrass Eventworks. “Some of the farms are very expansive, where every front window is a framed picture of Bluegrass lands.” Homes here rarely come on the market. The median sale price is in the lower $900,000s, above Lexington’s overall median and that of the nearby communities of Loradale, Centerville and Hutchinson-Monterey.
