Life in Lincoln, Arkansas

Named after the nation’s 16th president, the small town of Lincoln, Arkansas, was established in 1907, getting its start as a thriving agricultural community with prospering apple orchards. Now evolving into a thriving place to live, work and play, Lincoln is introducing new homes and new families to the area as it keeps up with the times, and the older established homes and families show that, in Lincoln, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

Ranch-style and traditional homes are prevalent in Lincoln, displaying brick and vinyl façades. Spacious lots make for wide-open outdoor spaces for entertaining family and friends, and sprawling lawns are accented with flourishing trees and trimmed hedges. More expansive estates sit on giant acreage lots — of up to 70 acres — and newly built homes are also finding their place in Lincoln, coming in various styles and sizes and offering four and five bedrooms. Prices in the area range from the $100,000s to the $300,000s, with new builds starting in the $200,000s. Because of the vast amount of land, larger properties can reach nearly $900,000.

Museum of Arkansas healthcare

The semi-autobiographical film “Minari,” based on the childhood of director Lee Isaac Chung, is set in 1980s Lincoln. The city is also the home of the Arkansas Country Doctor Museum, which chronicles the history of rural American healthcare through collections of early 20th-century medical instruments and discussing standard practices of the time. The museum itself was once the town’s clinic and the home of three doctors who served the residents of Lincoln from 1936 to 1973.
