Single-family homes in the area range anywhere from $140,000 on the north end to $330,000 on the south side and Ariza says home values in the area are increasing. Some residents chose to purchase lots for anywhere between $40,000 and $200,000 and build their own homes. Driving through Chicot West you will also see plenty of renovations. “Many of the people in are constantly improving their houses. They are extremely proud of their work.”

Media center at Little Rock Southwest Magnet High
Students begin at Chicot Elementary as part of the Little Rock School District. Chicot Elementary is part of the Community School partnership between the City of Little Rock and the school district. As a Community School, Chicot Elementary serves as a hub of the neighborhood providing English classes and computer courses. Students then move to Mabelvale Middle School which features a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio before heading to Little Rock Southwest Magnet High School. Little Rock Southwest was built in 2020 and features a two-story media center, fully equipped science labs and smart monitors in every classroom.
