Ramblers and the occasional prewar Craftsman

Homes in Progress Park benefit from their proximity to the old downtown area, as many are more architecturally interesting and historic than you typically find in modern subdivisions. Smaller, ranch-style and midcentury modern homes from the postwar period predominate, listing in the range of $500,000 for a three-bedroom. Every so often, a lovely prewar Craftsman with three bedrooms will come on the market for under $600,000, featuring original shingles and painted half-timbering. On the eastern, more suburban side of Progress Park, home buyers may find postwar Tudor-style mansions with sprawling wings on acre-sized lots in the range of $1.5 million.

The Littleton Community Trail runs north along the eastern border and all the way down past Littleton city limits. Progress Park connects to Cornerstone Park, which connects to Belleview Park. In addition to miniature train rides, this connected system has a skate park, a cricket ground and a dog park called the Canine Corral. Slaughterhouse Gulch Park, which the Littleton Community Trail crosses, is on the southwestern side of the locality.

Littleton becomes foodie spot due to dining renaissance

As Denver has become a foodie city, Littleton has seen its share of overflow. Eater Magazine recommends Romano's Italian Restaurant, just a few blocks south of Slaughterhouse Gulch Park, on its list of 19 Places for Primo Pizza in Denver. Eater also recommends ViewHouse Littleton, a new 10,000-square-foot restaurant with a rooftop bar from which, on clear days, patrons can see clear to the Rockies. There are several restaurants and shops along the section of Littleton Boulevard bordering the south of the neighborhood. From Syrian food to locally sourced burgers, Littleton Boulevard is hopping. There's a branch of the regional supermarket chain King Soopers on the eastern corner of Littleton Blvd and a Sprouts Organic Market just a mile north in neighboring Englewood.
