Shadowbrook has two green spaces. Ravenswood Park has a historic building that was once part of a country estate, while Independence Park has multi-use fields, a gym and a playground. Sycamore Grove Park is about 1 mile south of Shadowbrook and spans 775 acres open for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The Club at Ruby Hill is about 4 miles west of Shadowbrook on land that used to be a winery. This country club has a golf course, tennis courts and a fitness center, as well as restaurants.

Downtown Livermore and several wineries are close by
Downtown Livermore is 2 miles north and home to various restaurants, shops and cultural attractions like the Livermore Art Association and Gallery. Monica’s Livermore, housed in a historic building once home to a winery, is known for its American comfort food. First Street Alehouse has one of the largest collections of beer cans in the U.S., with over 6,000 flattened cans hanging in picture frames inside the restaurant. Cuda Ridge Wines and Las Positas Vineyards are just outside the neighborhood's east side, providing views of grapevines and easy access to wine tastings.
