Large acreages and ranch properties draw buyers to Lone Grove
Lone Grove offers a rural refuge in southern Oklahoma and the Chickasaw Nation. "It's a bedroom community of Ardmore," says broker Tom Love with Keller Williams Realty Ardmore. "It was one of the biggest southern Oklahoma communities in the 1800s, but it delegated much of its business and municipal offices to Ardmore, which caused that town to grow." Lone Grove draws buyers for one primary reason: land. "Lone Grove is mostly ranching land," Love says. "It's extremely rural, but it's a 'love all serve all' area with plenty of properties." The mix of large acreage for farming and ranching and proximity to Ardmore's amenities keep Lone Grove's pulse steady.

Ranch-styles, cottages and manufactured homes are priced between $85,000 and $300,000. New Traditional, contemporary and farmhouse-style homes are typically priced between $245,000 and $530,000. Large ranching estates may cost from $600,000 to $1 million. "The area is light on new constructions," Love says. "I have sold some land to developers, but they only build two or three houses at a time."
