A north Long Beach neighborhood on the rise with an extensive park project
Paramount is a north Long Beach neighborhood featuring a recent project that is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Davenport Park has started its transformation as a valuable community resource, with construction expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The project addresses the area’s need for more green space and increases the park equity within Long Beach. A perk of living in Paramount is the housing prices. “It’s very economical there. It’s a place to consider when you’re looking to buy for the first time,” says Realtor Priscilla Martinez, who works with Realty One and has over a decade of experience in the area. Not only economical, the housing options are also wide-ranging to suit many people’s needs.

Wide-ranging housing options in affordable Paramount
The neighborhood has retail on its northern side, while the rest of Paramount is residential. There's quite a variety of home styles to fit most people’s demands, including single-family homes, condos, manufactured homes and apartments. Located in Paramount’s northeast section, the single-family homes are primarily midcentury ranch-style homes and bungalows. They sit on smaller lots, but these have enough space for front yards with garden beds and backyards roomy enough for small patios. Some of the larger homes have driveways, but many residents park on the street. Ranch-style homes range from $700,000 to $800,000. Condos are on the neighborhood's western side, with prices ranging from $300,000 for a one-bedroom to $500,000 for a three-bedroom. The Ackerfield Condominiums subdivision boasts amenities like a gated entrance and a community pool. The Friendly Village Mobile Home Park, in Paramount’s southeast corner, has manufactured homes with prices ranging from $150,000 to $200,000. Residents can soon expect a multipurpose sports field, fitness equipment and a picnic area shaded by trees. There will also be a paved walking path and expanded parking options.
