Commuter-friendly neighborhood by Interstate 5
In southwestern Washington, Lexington is a quiet neighborhood less than a mile from Interstate 5, the west coast’s main north-to-south highway. “Lexington put in access to Interstate 5 in 2006, which immediately upgraded the area,” says Jessica Baker, Longview broker with Coldwell Banker and fourth generation Cowlitz County resident. Prior to this, residents had to drive through Longview and Kelso to access the Interstate. Now, they can cross the Lexington Bridge, which has lessened commute times by about 10 minutes on average. This bridge also decreased emergency response times, making residents safer. Lexington’s other perks include a newly opened elementary school and proximity to the Cowlitz River, where anglers can fish year-round. This community on the northern outskirts of the Longview-Kelso area is also home to 58 acres of athletic facilities and shaded picnic areas at Riverside Park.
