At the Iroquois Park Overlook, a popular spot with panoramic views, residents can go on a walk up the hill and take in sights of the city skyline. Further below, the Iroquois Amphitheater is the official amphitheater for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and seats 2,400 people. Every year on the first Saturday of May, The Kentucky Derby comes to Churchill Downs, along with thousands of people from across the country flocking to the neighborhood to watch the races. Some people are shuttled into nearby hotels, while others look for convenient short-term rental options, often offered by residents of the neighborhood. Additionally, many residents "Rent out their parking and lawn space for derby-goers" during the races and are "Often able to supplement their income by doing so," says Bellingham.
