Well-maintained homes in a great location

In central northwest Arkansas, Lowell’s location is a large part of its appeal to homebuyers. “It’s so beautiful, and a really great place to live during any stage of life because there’s just lots of cool stuff around here in the smack dab middle of northwest Arkansas,” says Amanda Gainey, a long-term local and realtor with Concierge Realty. “The homes here really hold their value because they’re well-maintained and the location is amazing. But people don’t take advantage of that because a lot of people don’t sell once they move in,” she says.

Established subdivisions of homes from the mid-2010s

There are mostly Traditional-style homes here, built in the mid-2010s. Gainey notes that many of Lowell's subdivisions are established, with homes nearing or more than 10 years old. “Everybody here keeps up with their homes, so the quality of the homes is a big draw. It’s a wonderful neighborhood and it’s been really well-kept,” she says. A typical three-bedroom, two-bathroom, Traditional-style home with an attached two-car garage and hardwood flooring throughout tends to sell for around the $390,000 mark, but prices here can range from $240,000 to more than $400,000. “There aren’t usually many houses on the market here because it’s such a great neighborhood that people don’t want to leave,” says Gainey.

Part of the no. 1 mountain biking capital of the world

Northwest Arkansas is widely regarded as a mecca for nature lovers. Gainey says that many people move here from around the country (and even visit internationally) for the plethora of nearby outdoor attractions. “We have over 300 miles of paved walking and biking trails, which connect from the Missouri border all the way down to Fayetteville, and you can visit all the downtown areas just on your bike by riding down the trails,” she says. Gainey: “Northwest Arkansas is the no. 1 mountain biking capital of the world now because of the mountain biking paths.” With 12,000 acres of natural Ozark landscape in Hobbs State Park less than 18 miles east, too, there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors on foot or by boat, too.

In the middle of everything that Northwest Arkansas has to offer

Lowell’s central location, close to retail and dining options, is a big draw to homebuyers. “It’s really nice because it’s in the middle of everything that Northwest Arkansas has to offer,” says Gainey. “You can get to Fayetteville almost as quick as you can get to Bentonville, which is amazing,” she says, adding that she can’t help but boast about this part of the state. “It's such an awesome place to live, it's hard not to brag,” she says. Within 20 miles of Arkansas’ largest state park, the Pinnacle Hills Promenade shopping mall, downtown Fayetteville and downtown Bentonville, residents certainly enjoy easy access to a wide variety of amenities. Pinnacle Hills Promenade, where most residents head to shop, is just 3.5 miles northwest up Interstate 49 and has everything from American Eagle to Zales. Across the street from the mall, there’s also a Walmart Neighborhood Market and a Target.

Easy access to the surrounding metro

With US Highway 71 running through Lowell from north to south, residents enjoy easy access to the surrounding metro. But nearly 18 miles north of Fayetteville and more than 10 miles south of Bentonville, most do need a car to get around. The Northwest Arkansas National Airport is just over 10 miles west of Lowell, straight down State Road 264.
