Privacy with convenience
Less than 15 miles from downtown Baltimore, Falls Road Corridor maintains a rural feel with sprawling lots that allow for ample privacy. To avoid becoming densely packed with homes, “the community associations fought for years to not bring water and sewer farther than it is,” says Penny Noval of Long & Foster, a Realtor who lives in Mays Chapel and has worked in the area for decades.
Custom house designs avoids cookie cutter developments
Homes in the neighborhood feature masonry construction or log-cabin-inspired exteriors, but the architectural style of each house varies depending on the desires of the original owner. “It’s all very prime housing built over the years by custom builders for individual people’s housing plans and designs. It’s not cookie-cutter,” explains Noval. Houses in subdivisions like Chapel Gate sit on lots less than an acre, but most properties extend well over that size and boast well-manicured lawns with ornate shrubbery and mature trees. Some homes reach nearly 10,000 square feet, while others sit closer to 3,000 square feet. Though bordering Mays Chapel, the neighborhood offers a different way of life. “I’m on the last street of Mays Chapel, and I look through the woods at colonial-style homes on an acre that have wells, septic, large lots and good-sized houses anywhere from $850,000 to $900,000—and even $2 million or so, depending on the size and the scale of the house. It's a huge culture shift,” Noval says. Mays Chapel, on the other hand, includes strictly condos and townhouses that cost closer to $320,000.

For golf lovers in the community, Baltimore Country Club and its Five Farms Golf Course sit right along Mays Chapel Road. Centralized dining and shopping
Though the neighborhood consists mainly of grassy lots and stately homes, Cockeysville is only about 5 miles away. Home to national retailers like Walmart Supercenter, the Home Depot, Sam’s Club and Target, residents of Falls Road Corridor can gather the basics with a quick ride down Ivy Hill Road and Beaver Dam Road. Cockeysville also has the Jai Medical Center and Hunt Valley Towne Center—a shopping mall with over 50 retailers and a movie theater. When it comes to dining out, there aren’t many options within the community, but Jake’s Grill serves the Falls Road Corridor and features an extensive menu of barbecued meats. The stop is a local favorite, but additional options can be found closer to Mays Chapel, like Mother’s North Grill and Hightopps Backstage Grille.

I-83 is a fast track to the track
"There’s a school in Mays Chapel that has ballfields, and so you get a lot of the little kiddies playing soccer and lacrosse after school, but there’s nothing other than that,” explains Noval. Despite that, Baltimore City is reachable with Interstate 83, so Orioles games, Charm City Bluegrass Festival and the Preakness Stakes are just a quick drive away.
Stevenson U's satellite campus
Stevenson University’s Greenspring Campus sits at the southern edge of the community. The satellite campus includes a sculpture garden and art gallery, both open to the public.
