A traditional, calming Lynchburg suburb
Tate Springs has offered a secure suburb since 1912 for Lynchburg residents who need a place to live or are just passing by to visit their doctor. The neighborhood attracts medical professionals because most of the city’s hospitals are here, including Centra Lynchburg General Hospital and Centra Heart and Vascular Institute – Lynchburg. “It’s a busy area because of all the healthcare facilities,” says Aaliya Robertson, a Lynchburg resident who grew up in the city and resides here. Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital is also nearby, just 3 miles away. Robertson says she has a friend who used to live in the area. “It’s a good place for kids since there’s not much drama or violence,” she says. Tate Springs is for families who want to settle down, says Jocelyn Espinoza, a former resident who was born and raised in Tinbridge Hill, a neighboring area. “It’s not like Richmond, where more young people are. It’s a very traditional area.”
