Seven miles to the north of Cincinnati on Interstate 71, Madeira is a small city with an active community. “There is a tremendous amount of community events, and people show up and really care about the experience,” says Madeira Mayor Chris Hilberg. “We have everything from parades to fireworks on the Fourth of July to socials and dances for our senior citizens.” Hilberg continues, “We have an excellent police department, and we are rated as one of the safest communities in the state.” Madeira is a city with a pair of parks and plenty of dining options. Single-family homes in Madeira have a median price point of $450,000, with larger new construction houses ranging up to $1 million. Housing styles vary from older Colonial-style brick builds to newer Craftsman modern homes. There are also a few smaller bungalows in the neighborhood. There are a few quiet residential areas with cul-de-sacs, but many homes are on busy two-way streets. There are driveways and garages for private parking, and many houses feature large fenced-in yards, making play safe for children and pets. A-rated schools
Kids head to the Madeira City School District, which is considered one of the best in Ohio. “The great school system is really what anchors the town,” says Hilberg. “We are proud of the schools, and it shows in where we are rated.” Madeira Elementary School was ranked by Niche as the 25th-best school in the Cincinnati area. The next stop is Madeira Middle School before Madeira High. All three schools earned an A rating from Niche. Madeira High was noted as being one of the top schools in Ohio and praised for its STEM program.
Students of Madeira High School has access to a state-of-the-art track and field.
Madeira Elementary School serves the growing youth from the area.

Sellman and McDonalad Commons
Madeira has a pair of parks, and Sellman Park is located right behind Madeira Middle School. The park has playground equipment and outdoor basketball and volleyball courts. There are community grills and picnic shelters are available upon request. McDonald Commons Park is a larger, 17-acre area that is home to many youth sporting events with three baseball diamonds and three soccer fields. The area also has wooded hiking trails and a playground for children. Tennis fans can play all year round at the indoor courts of the Camargo Racquet Club. The club offers open courts as well as lessons from instructors.

Residents kick off the day at Coffee Please, a hip joint that has indoor and outdoor seating and daily specials marked on the chalkboard above the counter. SwingLine has American bar classics, and they can be enjoyed from the rooftop area overlooking the neighborhood. For pizza and other Italian staples, A Tavola is where the locals flock. A Tavola specializes in thick-crust pizzas and has patio seating. The Madeira Café has been a neighborhood staple and is open for breakfast and lunch. The diner serves up large portions of breakfast burritos, pancakes, and more.
Shoppers have plenty of options living in Madeira. There is a Kroger located right off Camargo Road that provides a spot to stock up on groceries and a pair of malls in neighboring Kenwood. The Kenwood Square and Kenwood Towne Centre both have plenty of boutiques as well as nationally recognized retail outlets.

Go Metro around town
Locals have the ability to hop on Go Metro buses to get around town. There are frequent stops on Euclid Avenue and Miami Avenue For those who prefer to drive, there is convenient access to Interstate 71 and US Route 22 to provide transportation to neighboring areas.
