Madera Metro bus stops are dotted along Howard Road and Yosemite Avenue. They form a segment of the transit system’s orange line, which ties all the regions of Madera to downtown. The Fresno Yosemite International Airport is about 5 miles more, providing many non-stop domestic flights, including a few to Mexico.Renovated parks, including Lions Town & Country and Courthouse
West Madera is centered around Lions Town & Country Park, which was renovated in 2022. “People can identify where they’re at by the park. The playground gets used, and the walking trails are something the community loves,” Ramos says. “They added exercising machines on the trail, so you can stop and do an arm workout when walking. I’ve seen people have fun there with disc golf, and the baseball fields host youth and adult teams.” On Fridays in the summer, movie nights are hosted at the park’s amphitheater. “They also do a big shebang for Easter, and families camp out to get spots early.” The event occurs on the preceding Saturday, with an egg hunt, craft vendors and games. Nearby, Courthouse Park was updated in 2024 with features, including a nature-themed playground and paved walking path. The City of Madera Fire Department serves the area
