Ocean views and seclusion in the Santa Monica Mountains
El Nido’s coastal mountain range location doesn’t just give it majestic scenery but also provides access to endless hiking and waterfront recreation. “It's a really special neighborhood. It has one of my favorite views of Malibu, which looks over the peninsula and sunsets,” says Realtor Madison Hildebrand, President of the Malibu Life Team, with about two decades of experience in the area. “It’s an alcove with really nice homes in Central Malibu, still in nature.” With contemporary mansions nestled in greenery, the area features a serene oasis-like setting. This is emphasized by its CAP Index Crime Score: a 1 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4.

Hiking at Solstice Canyon Park and nearby beaches
The neighborhood is located within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, over 150,000 acres of canyons, peaks and pathways that overlook the Pacific Ocean. Just west of El Nido, Solstice Canyon Park is part of this recreation area, with multiple hiking trails to choose from. “It’s a fantastic park down in the canyon, next to sycamore trees and the creek, which is pretty,” Hildebrand says. The park’s 3-mile Solstice Canyon Loop trail ascends through rugged terrain, past the ruins of historic houses and up to views of the ocean framed by the canyon’s walls. Bordering the community to the south, Corral Beach is the closest access point to the water, with a quieter, more secluded vibe than many of the other beaches around due to only having street parking. More options nearby include Malibu Lagoon State Beach and Latigo Beach.

Single-family homes in El Nido range from $1.8 to $3.7 million, while undeveloped land starts from $100,000 for one-sixth of an acre and goes up to $4.1 million for about 20 acres.
