Most houses are single-family with a median build year of 1965 and ample front and backyards. “Once upon a time, we used to have an Air Force base, so you had a lot of base housing,” says Michelle Gannon, a broker and owner with Coldwell Banker Classic Realty. Gannon has worked in the industry for over 23 years. Home prices range from the mid-$300,000s to the upper-$500,000s. Green Acres has a median sale price of $442,500, which is slightly above Somerville and Southside, but lower than Eaton Heights. “The community is changing over; this neighborhood is starting to turn over to a younger generation,” says Gannon. “Younger families, blue-collar families working at Elliot Hospital.”

Shopping and dining in Downtown and Southside
