Manhasset Hills, 21 miles from New York City, is a little pocket of homes just south of Manhasset, tucked between Northern State Parkway and Hillside Avenue. “It’s a beautiful area, I used to live there,” says Samina Ali, an associate broker with Berkshire Hathaway, Laffey International Realty and an interior designer and investor. “There’s an IT and doctor population and a highly rated school district. There are a lot of high-end houses. You won’t find anything under $800,000 to $900,000.” Most professionals in the area work at the hospitals just outside the community under the Northwell Health umbrella. Manhasset Hills has a CAP Index crime score of 1 out of 10, with 4 being the national average.

Single-family homes from $800,000
The streets are lined with trees and sidewalks, and its homes are often built on bigger lots than in Queens or New York City, Ali says. This allows homes to be set back from the street and provides homeowners with front and back yards where they can entertain and let their children or pets play. Homes in the split-level and ranch styles range from $800,000 to $1.3 million. Custom-built homes or homes with unique styles range from $1.4 million to $1.8 million.
