Rasmussen Park
Neighborhood in Mankato, Minnesota
Blue Earth County 56001
Vibrant green lawns along tree-lined Stoltzman Road
Tall evergreen trees lien Stoltzman Road, reminding residents of the nature preserve in the neighborhood’s northwestern corner. Properties reflect decades of diligent maintenance, as does the carefully trimmed shrubbery decorating front lawns. Most houses feature bi-level or ranch-style architecture, and many exceed 2,000 square feet. Construction years date back to the 1960s along some streets, but there are also homes from the early 2000s to today. On average, houses cost between $180,000 and $385,000, and there are homes in the $400,000 to $550,000 range with luxury features in subdivisions like Ezra Estates — one of the closest communities to the university campus.Marshes and woodlands near the Red Jacket Trail
The miles of trails throughout Rasmussen Woods invite residents to enjoy a brisk walk along shaded paths, and it’s common to see dogs joining in. Unlike a typical park, Rasmussen Woods includes more than a walkable path across its 150-acre grounds. “Rasmussen Woods is so cool. It’s got prairies and wetlands, deer and wildlife. In the wetlands, part of the trail is floating. You walk on it, and it moves with you,” Stilson says. The floating trail includes a boarded walkway that rises and falls with the marsh beneath it. The trails at the park also link up to the Red Jacket Trail for a more extensive walking or biking path. For a smaller park with a basketball court and playground, Southview is a mile south of Rasmussen Woods.Highly rated Mankato Area schools and a nearby MSU campus
