Quiet and slow-paced is just how residents of Maple Glen like it. “I’ve been living here for more than 20 years,” says real estate agent Diane Sarkisian with RE/MAX, “We have so much foliage and landscaping. It’s just a beautiful place to be.” This Montgomery County suburb gives locals a peaceful place to call home. As a mostly residential neighborhood, Maple Glen is laid out with several housing developments in a serene, leafy environment. Beautiful mansions from the early 2000s offer spacious yards for gardens with more than 5,000 square feet of living space. If you don’t need that much room, Maple Glen is full of single-family homes with a variety of architectural styles from the mid-1900s, including ranch-style, split-levels and Colonials. If you don’t mind the closeness, you can enjoy living in a newer townhouse as well. Developments feature a mix of two-to-three story townhomes with cozy back decks, attached garages and extra parking spaces for guests.

A mansion in Maple Glen costs around $1.2 million. If you’re looking to settle down in a smaller single-family home, you can expect to pay between $450,000 and $800,000. Meanwhile, townhouses range from about $425,000 to $600,000.

When you want some fresh air, walk or bike under the wires along the 5-mile Horsham Power Line Trail. Along the trail, kids can play on the playground at Jarrett Park or in the wide-open grassy field while you relax in the gazebo. Williams Park is another great option, which also features a big field with lots of trees and benches, perfect for picnics and play time for dogs.

For those with pets, Maple Glen is home to one of the region’s most popular local pet stores, Dogs & Cats Rule, which has been serving the community since 2001. It’s located in the town’s one shopping center on Welsh Road, where you can get groceries from GIANT. While this may be a small town, it certainly doesn’t lack dining options. With nearly a dozen restaurants, you can enjoy Maple Glen’s multicultural dining experience, whether you’re in the mood for a gyro from Grilliant Greek Rotisserie, Asian specialties from Rice & Curry or casual pub grub from Brick & Barrel, you have plenty of options to satisfy just about any craving.

Welsh Road is the dividing line between the Upper Dublin School District on the south side and Hatboro-Horsham School District on the north side. Both are highly-rated school districts, according to NICHE. Students in the Hatboro-Horsham School District attend Simmons Elementary School, conveniently located in the neighborhood. According to GreatSchools, test scores at Simmons are far above the state average. Those who wish to pursue post-secondary education can stay in the neighborhood by attending Temple University Ambler Campus, which allows students to earn a degree from Temple in a beautiful suburban campus away from the city.

However, if you’d like to visit Center City, it’s about 22 miles away, so you’re not too far, whether you plan to travel for work or a leisurely day out in the city.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. There are a lot of opportunities for entry level jobs, but they are mostly fast food and retail positions. If you're willing to make the forty minute drive to Philadelphia, you'll obviously have more options.

Instead of big chain eateries, the local diners and small shops usually attract the most customers. Along with exceptional customer service, the specialty food sometimes found at these places is amazing. Other small businesses portray the same values local residents have: family comes first. A lot of people- myself included- like to know the businesses that we use are interested in the same things as the community.

Tight-knit, family-friendly community with great schools and neighborhoods! I've lived here for over 15 years and wouldn't change a thing.

This is a great suburban city only 30 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. The location is extremely convenient with nearby train stations, shopping centers, shopping malls, grocery stores, banks, and anything anyone can think of to live in America. Also, the school district is one of the best in the state. This is a safe, and convenient place to live.
