Indian Hills Country Club is a master-planned community with access to big cities
Indian Hills Country Club residents have serene living and private access to entertainment. The area, often shortened to Indian Hills, is a master-planned residential community in the East Cobb area of Georgia, a few miles outside Marietta and Atlanta. The neighborhood is close to several shopping centers and local restaurants and is zoned for highly rated schools. At the same time, the Indian Hills Civic Association makes sure its entrances and other common areas are well-kept. “It’s a real community,” says Page Morgan, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta North and a 30-year resident of the area. “With the awesome schools and the closeness of the city, while being totally outside of the city, I can’t imagine living somewhere else.”
Eclectic housing includes New Traditional homes and Ranch-style residences
Indian Hills housing can vary by section and even by street, with Morgan calling the neighborhood “eclectic.” Several New Traditional homes of 4,000 square feet or more have been built in the last decade. These houses usually range from $1 million to $3 million, though the biggest ones are capable of reaching $4 million. Older, traditional residences are often sold for between $500,000 and $1 million. Ranch-style dwellings can go from $400,000 to $850,000, with some recently renovated reaching $1 million. Though these are the most prominent styles, others like townhomes and patio homes can also be found. “I’ve lived in three houses in Indian Hills, which is something you can do here,” Morgan says. “You can go from a starter home to a $3 million home and not have to leave.” Cul-de-sacs often put out basketball hoops for kids to use, and residents will jog through the community despite some area roads foregoing sidewalks. It has well-kept lawns with bushes or small trees, and larger trees fill the gaps between houses. The community does not have an HOA. The Indian Hills Civic Association is voluntary to join and carries a $125 annual fee. Indian Hills has a CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, well below the national average of 4.
Highly rated public schools and Mt. Bethel Christian Academy
Students are served by the Cobb County School District and can attend East Side Elementary School, which is inside the neighborhood and has an A Niche grade. Dickerson Middle School also earns an A. Walton High School is the only school in Cobb County to offer a pre-engineering program. It has an A-plus Niche score. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, a private kindergarten through 12th grade institution, also earns an A-plus.
Club amenities, nearby parks and multiple movie theaters
The club itself has 27 holes of golf, plus six pickleball courts, six tennis courts and three pools, plus a spacious clubhouse. It has several membership levels, though it is not required for residents to join. Just outside the community, Fullers Park has baseball and softball diamonds as well as a turf multisport field. It is also the home of Fullers Recreation Center, which has a gym for basketball and volleyball among other amenities. East Cobb Park has playgrounds, walking paths and picnic areas, plus a music stage. Two movie theaters, Merchants Walk Cinemas and Picture Show at Merchant’s Exchange, are within a few miles.
Convenient access to nearby cities and the Atlanta Braves
Georgia State Route 120 is just north of the neighborhood, while Interstate 75 runs a few miles west. Downtown Marietta is less than 10 miles away, as is Truist Park, the home of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. Downtown Atlanta is about 20 miles south, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is about 30 miles away. The area does not experience much extreme weather, though trees can fall during heavy storms.
Close shopping centers and popular local restaurants like Seed Kitchen & Bar
The neighborhood is close to several retail hubs like Merchants Walk Shopping Center, which has a Whole Foods and a Marshalls among other tenants. Other nearby stores include Target, Old Navy, Publix Super Market and Trader Joe’s. A plethora of restaurants sit close to the area along Johnson Ferry Road. J. Christopher’s serves hearty breakfast and lunch food, while Gusto! has health-focused bowls inspired by food from around the world. Seed Kitchen & Bar has modern American cuisine with a seasonal menu.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
