From a factory town to a Knoxville hotspot
Alcoa is a small city situated south of Knoxville, with the Great Smoky Mountains to the southwest. The area is a former industrial town where neighbors worked alongside one another at the local aluminum smelting plant and is now home to roughly 11,000 residents. While the original homes built for plant workers still stand today, there has been a significant uptick in housing developments alongside a bustling commercial area to the south. For both education and recreation, locals head to the center of the neighborhood, where the four Alcoa schools lie right next to the expansive Springbrook Park, which is often full of locals looking to relax or exercise. Even with so much all around the area, Alcoa works to provide small-town living among big cities and national landmarks.
Former plant sites in Alcoa used to be the backbone of the local town's economy many years ago.
Homes, local businesses, and hiking trails are staples you will find when visiting Alcoa, TN.

Small town with great people. Community is a big deal with neighbors and members of the community always lending a hand or asking how they can help. The best school system around.

Alcoa is a nice town. Close to both Knoxville and the mountains. Still has some small town charm, although the population and the traffic are both growing by the day.

I have lived in Alcoa, TN for my whole life and I love it. The people here mostly are friendly and there is always places to go, there is malls, restaurants, and movie theatres. Alcoa is not too big, but not to small. When I go on vacation I always get homesick and cant wait to get back to my home in Alcoa.
