A suburban community about 25 miles outside the nation's capital

Just east of Dulles International Airport and near two Metro stations, McNair is popular for its access to D.C. and Northern Virginia. Since the community abuts the major airport, aviation noise, hotels and business parks are also part of its identity. Many of its approximately 22,000 residents work in D.C., Dulles or area office parks. Major employers include Dulles Airport, government agencies, Airbus and Northrop Grumman. The median household income is $123,327, higher than the state’s median of about $91,000. "It's still the suburbs, but you're right in the middle of everything. Reston is right there, You're 30 minutes by car or on the Metro to D.C. And you can go the opposite direction to Ashburn, Middleburg or Leesburg to a quiet winery or vineyard," says Pooja Chawla, a former Realtor at Samson Properties. However, traffic getting into the city during rush hours may cause significant delay.
