Oakhaven homebuyers enjoy convenient commutes and suburban charm
The Oakhaven neighborhood of Memphis is right next to Memphis International Airport and surrounded by industrial areas. Despite that, the neighborhood feels suburban, with community parks and tree-lined streets. Some people might find living next to an airport disruptive, but the people who live here enjoy the easy commutes to nearby employers. Oakhaven pairs that convenience with home prices that are affordable for the city.

Oakhaven sits directly next to Memphis International Airport. There can be noise from the planes and traffic around the airport, but it’s not super disruptive, according to Anderson. The neighborhood’s location also means employers are nearby. FedEx, headquartered in Memphis, has several offices at or around the airport, and a handful of companies have warehouses within the neighborhood. “Most of the residents in Oakhaven might work at the airport, FedEx or the Amazon distribution center,” says Caleb Parr, vice president of sales and acquisitions with Renshaw Company Realtors. “There’s a lot of industrial areas there.” Downtown Memphis is 12 miles away, and most people drive, but MATA buses stop throughout the neighborhood.
