Mentor, Ohio, sits on the shores of Lake Eerie, roughly 20 miles northeast of downtown Cleveland. “It’s a family community with good schools, close proximity to Cleveland and a lot of parks,” says Judie Crockett, real estate counselor with The Crockett Team of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services in Mentor. Home to the longest public swimming beach in Ohio and a significant collection of restaurants and retail shops, the city is an outdoor destination and a local hotspot for shopping and dining. In addition to its local businesses, the city hosts a handful of major employers like Avery Denison and Lubrizol.

Neighborhoods in Mentor have a suburban vibe, with many of the city’s residential streets lined with sidewalks under tall oaks and pines.
