An old American town
Merrimack is a growing suburb of Nashua full of amenities, convenience, and history. Merrimack was originally home to Algonquin tribes that settled along the Merrimack River. European colonists settled there as early as 1655. Locals stay in the area for its outdoor recreation and relaxed nature. “Around Merrimack, it’s very relaxed. There’s always someone walking up the hills. It’s an outdoorsy type of vibe,” says Sheri-Ann Boudreau, a resident of 24 years. “When we walk our dogs every Sunday morning, it’s like you don’t hear cars, very relaxed.”
Wesserman Park, located in the Merrimack neighborhood, offers a stream to enjoy.

Diverse home mixture with historic charm
Merrimack is a simple suburb with a mixture of single-family homes, townhouses, and condos. Townhouses and condos usually have three bedrooms or fewer and carry under 1,500 square feet. Depending on the complex, residents have amenities like a clubhouse, pool and garages. These properties are mostly found on the highways and are priced between $100,000 and $500,000. Single-family homes come in various styles, from ranches to Cape Cod homes, colonial revivals to newer craftsman. “A little bit of everything. There’s a lot of newer developments,” says Boudreau. “Huge houses with three to five bedrooms. It’s very rural but modern. You have older homes from the 40s and 50s.” Prices range from $300,000 for simple ranches to over $830,000 for newer constructions.
Newly built two-story homes are available.
Newly constructed houses are also available.

Daniel Webster Highway is the main space to find all the restaurants. “Quintessential New England restaurant is The Common Man, or higher end is Buckley’s Steakhouse,” says Boudreau. “The Common Man is family-style and comfy.” Fresh seafood is always on the menu of the Lobster Boat. Their seafood platter is filled with a pound of seafood and their handmade onion rings. Locals can pick up their weekly groceries at Shaw’s Market. Merrimack Premium is an outlet mall just off Industrial Drive. Locals can shop around nearly 100 stores, including Old Navy, Coach, Bloomingdale’s and Swarovski. More shopping is 12 miles north at the Mall of New Hampshire.

Merrimack relies on Route 3
“In this area, without barring traffic, we’re 40 minutes to Boston,” says Boudreau. “About an hour to the Mountains and 45 minutes to Hampton or Salisbury Beach.” Route 3 runs from Maine to Massachusetts, north to south. Pick up Route 3 to get connections to Nashua or head further south towards Boston. Interstate 93 is further east; follow it north to hit the mountain and follow it south to hit Salem and Boston. Manchester Regional Airport is 6 miles north. This airport was named the best domestic airport in Travel+ Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2023. This airport offers destinations to 11 major airports, which offers many other connections.
