Fountain of the Sun: a private, age-restricted community
At Fountain of the Sun, residents can play a game of pickleball in the morning, a round of golf in the afternoon and finish the night playing Pinochle. This guard-gated, age restricted, 55-plus community located on the east side of Mesa prides itself on its myriad of clubs and activities that encourage an active lifestyle. According to Heather Roberts, the activity manager for Fountain of the Sun, residents love “the community feel… It feels like you know your neighbors, and everyone is very friendly and welcoming.” Not only does the HOA and staff host plenty of events and activities, but with Superstition Mall in walking distance and the 202 and 60 freeways nearby, locals here never have trouble finding something to do.

Residents can participate on competitive teams across multiple sports, including the shuffleboard league, which plays on the six courts that were refurbished in 2021. Even four-legged members of the community have an off leash gathering space at the Dog Park Club. For those who would like to seek adventure outside of their backyards, Realtor Joanna Siravo-Hamric with Realty One Group, who has over 18 years of experience in the area, says that the “Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch is a huge asset to the neighborhood.” This 110-acre wetland and wildlife sanctuary has activities from “Dino Digs” and hiking trails to overnight campsites.
